Default Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) and Infectious Mononucleosis

Epstein Barr Virus, or EBV, is a virus that typically causes no symptoms in childhood but can cause Infectious Mononucleosis if acquired as an adolescent or adult.

EBV Infection will usually resolve on its own although the Virus remains in a Dormant state in the person's body forever. Rarely, the Virus can become reactivated and again cause Symptoms.

EBV is Associated with other diseases but it's role is not well understood nor is it likely the sole cause of these other illnesses.
