SINUS TOOTHACHE

I would like to correspond with any one who has experienced and treated a
Sinus Toothache. Thanks , Rich

I had a sinus toothache in the 2nd. upper molar behind my canine. ...I
thought for sure it was an abscess, as I have had them before and the

It depends what you mean by a "sinus toothache" but the anser is yes in either
interpretation.

You can have tooth disease that triggers sinusitis.

Alternatively, you can have sinusitis that trigers tooth pain.

After all, they are right next each other.....

Unfortunately this is a tough call. The nerve that goes to the tooth is the
same nerve that goes to the sinus and both can feel exactly the same.
Essentially the dentist has to rule out the tooth and the ENT has to rule
out the sinus.
Since tooth is more common than sinus, statistically its probably best to
see the dentist first.
Fortunately the sinus doesn't affect the teeth too often, except when there
is bone missing to separate the tooth root from the sinus. Bad sinus polyps
are removed where there is danger of them affecting the teeth. Fistulas can
occur when there is bad polyps in the sinus, the tooth is extracted, and the
polyps come through the hole.

I had a toothache off and on for 6 months. It woke me up at night too.
My dentist took xrays and said lets leave it for awhile.
She gave me a referral to have it extracted, but I still waited awhile.
One day a jelly (clear) like clot, very warm it was too, came out when I
was rinsing my mouth.
The next day the toothache was gone.

My tooth now has a crown on for nearly a year and it is okay now.

The dentist removed 2 back upper teeth and said that would resolve the pain.
That was 2 months ago. I am having pain where the 2 teeth were extracted and
pain in the tooth in front of it .The dentist said the pain was not dental
related. I saw my doctor and he gave me 20 days on levaquin.I am into my
13th day with little relief. I have read a sinus toothache takes a long time
to get rid of. My symptoms were puffy cheek and redness with toothache like
feeling. Thanks
